Which Diamond Certification Is Best?

To begin with, AGS stands for American Gem Society. AGS is a trade association of jewelry sellers, appraisers, suppliers, and selective industry members. The motto of this society is consumer protection and education. Grading of certified loose diamonds is the specialty of the AGS and they have set super-high standards for cut, color, and clarity of a diamond. AGS uses grading scale from 0 to 10, with 0 being the best. 0 grade is known as the Ideal.

Basics of AGS Ideal 0 Cut Diamond

Traditionally, AGS triple zero (000) diamonds were the ones who qualified the zero grades in terms of color, clarity and cut. Now, the new and improved AGS Ideal 0 cut diamond needs to have an ideal – polish, symmetry, proportions, and light performance. A diamond meeting with 0 standards in terms of four earlier mentioned aspects receives AGS Ideal 0 rating on the AGS Diamond Quality Document.  This is considered the best quality GIA, AGS, IGI and EGL certified loose diamonds.
